A Living City

The way I'd describe San Francisco is that it is its own being. You don't live in San Francisco, you're in a relationship with San Francisco. It either lets you thrive, or chews you up and spits you out. I've lived in 6 different cities in my 25 years of living and never have I experienced such a place. The energy there is both suffocating and invigorating. It's love/hate. Due to a personal experience as a teenager, I vowed to my teenage self that I would never, ever live in San Francisco (funny, that's not the first time I made that vow with other cities and then moved there). And when the stars aligned and I realized that I was going to move to SF in a years time, and eventually even wanted to move there, it almost seemed a joke.

San Francisco, I don't know why you do the things you do. And I certainly don't know why I keep coming back to you for more. I guess I have always been in it for the fight.
